Background
The Hong Kong ICT Awards were established in 2006 under a collaborative effort amongst the industry, the academia and the Government. The Awards aim at building a large scale and internationally recognised branding of ICT awards of Hong Kong.

Objective
The Hong Kong ICT Awards recognise, promote and commend the excellent achievements to which Hong Kong ICT professionals and organisations contribute. The Awards also encourage local practitioners to develop innovative and creative ICT solutions, which will uplift the image of Hong Kong ICT sectors, both locally and internationally.

Awards
The Hong Kong ICT Awards Steering Committee, chaired by the Government Chief Information Officer, provides overall policy steer to the Awards Scheme. The Hong Kong ICT Awards 2013 comprise ten categories, including Best Business Award, Best Collaboration Award, Best Digital Entertainment Award, Best Digital Inclusion Award, Best Green ICT Award, Best Innovation & Research Award, Best Lifestyle Award, Best Mobile Apps Award, Best Public Service Application Award, and Best SME ICT Award. Each award category is organised by an industry-related organisation. There will be one Grand Award in each category and an “Award of the Year” will be selected from the ten Grand Awards by the Grand Judging Panel.

Benefits of Participation
The achievements of the Awards winners will be made aware by customers, organisations, the ICT industry practitioners and the entire community. Winners will be entitled:
to receive the Hong Kong ICT Awards Gold / Silver / Bronze trophies or certificates;
to display the official logo of the Hong Kong ICT Awards in their promotional materials;
to be arranged to participate in various promotional campaigns to publicise their achievements;
to be assisted in entering into other international awards and competitions;
to the free subscription for Collaboration Centres services offered by Cyberport¹; and
to the “fast track” admission to the Incu-Tech and Incu-Bio Incubation Programme offered by Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks².
Note: The Organiser and related parties will have the final discretion on the terms and conditions, and to vary and/or discontinue any terms and conditions without prior notice.

¹ Cyberport offers a free subscription for Collaboration Centre’s service to SMEs who are HKICTA 2013 Gold, Silver or Bronze award winners. The services include the soft-landing, business support services, etc.

² HKSTPC offers fast track admission to HKICTA 2013 Gold, Silver or Bronze award winners, which are start-up companies established in less than 2 years. Suitable applicants will be exempted from the first phase of assessment, which includes seeking comments and advice from the Technology Panel Advisors on their business plans. The Aid Package of the programme is up to $1m to $1.4m.
